Kedai Makanan Seremban, Seremban

Today's post is going to be a short one - but one with mouth watering fooddd!!!!!!

I discovered this place just recently in Seremban. LOL. I used to go down every day years ago, sometimes even twice a day and so on - but never been here. This time round - now that I have heard of it, I was determined to check it out.

Mantis prawn. Salted egg styled. Yummyyy...

The place is called Kedai Makanan Seremban, in Seremban of course!

Salt and pepper squid. =)

Then came the crabs...

More crabs...

I am supposed to be announcing the Hennessy Artistry 2011 tickets giveaway results - but.... I shall do that tomorrow. Anyways, had pan mee for dinner earlier, at the cute and cool little place called Jojo Little Kitchen in Desa Sri Hartamas.

They have a wide selection of pan mee, so feel free to choose your personal preference.

Go for their super pork infused pan mee.

Bengawan Solo Kuih Lapis, Singapore.

Bengawan Solo is a famous Indonesian song about the Solo River, which flows through central and eastern Java, Indonesia and is that island's longest river. The song describes the legendary river in a poetic and nostalgic way, that it is surrounded by mountains, its sources are near the city of Surakarta, that it ends in the sea, and that the merchants make use of it.

Anyways, I am not talking about the song. Instead - I'm talking about the Bengawan Solo cake shop. It is a super famous cake/bakery shop, with branches all over Singapore - I went to ones at Orchard Road instead.

It has a massive range of signature cakes and pastries and cakes.

With the best being the kuih lapis.

Perhaps the best kuih lapis that I have tried. =)

Awhile back, I heard of The Hungry Hog - but back then, they were only doing delivery of roast pork and so on. They had some really awesome siew yoke - one that makes the eater hungering for more!! hehe... anyways, they opened a restaurant recently, and it is called... The Hungry Hog.

The awesome siew yoke rice. Roast pork at its best!!!

Xiu Ji Ikan Bilis Yong Tau Fu, Chinatown, Singapore.

When you are hungry at 5.30am in Singapore, where do you go to for some awesome breakfast?

The Devil brought me to Smith Street where Chinatown is - that is where the food court is. =)

...and thats where the Xiu Ji Ikan Bilis Yong Tau Fu is!!! =)

Check that out - an awesomely delightful breakfast. Yong tau fu, and fish cake, with ikan bilis on top of your meehoon. *Blissss*

Quite a number of pieces for the price that we get. Comparing dollar-to-dollar (not converting), I think this place is considered way cheaper than Malaysia lorrr...

An awesome breakfast (MUST TRY!) to start the day. =P

Ya Kun Kaya Toast, Takashimaya. =)

We have seen Old Town White Coffee; we have seen Pappa Rich; we have seen K3K Benta Kaya. Kluang Station. Station One. And perhaps much more too. But I was in Singapore last weekend, and so, I checked out their own local coffee shop chain - the Ya Kun Kaya Toast. =)

Ya Kun Kaya Toast is a chain of air-conditioned kopitiams in Singapore and certain parts of Asia. As the name suggests, it sells kaya toast, bottled kaya, soft boiled eggs, Singapore-style coffee and tea, and other beverages.

Authentic place, with over 67 years of history.

Mixed Pork Soup, Sungai Way, PJ

Last Sunday, Stevie brought us all to Sg Way to check out this stall that serves some good mixed pork soup... chu chap tong. LOL. As a fan of chu tou tong, I had to try this - and it came highly recommended from Stevie and Mrs Chan. And so, the gang, consisting of the Devil and the Joe and of course the Chans - headed off to Sg Way in pursue of this super nice favourite!!! =) Too bad Uncle Dale had to miss this though.

My 3 layer tea. Super awesome stuffs.

There was no more yam rice, and not much of other stuffs left.

One last bowl of braised tofu.

...and one last bowl of mixed pork soup.

Here's one more picture to make you all hungry at 3am in the morning...

Antipodean, Bangsar

Okay, this place isnt really a hidden gem or jewel anymore - after all, it is already always packed in the mornings, especially weekends. But I just been here recently; parents love it, so here I am - gonna blog about it. =) Anyways, the place is called Antipodean, located next to La Bodega at Jalan Telawi 2 at Bangsar. A nice and cosy place, opened a few months ago by an Australian.

Its coffee is freshly roasted daily; and it is open from 8am to 10pm daily.

This is my latte. With some awesome coffee art too!

I have only been here for breakfast - and so far, already wowed by it every single time.

The Devil liked the place, and brought me there, got me impressed.

Brought my parents there, and they got impressed too. =)

Ah Yip Herbal Soup, Plaza Damas.

There are quite some hidden gems at Plaza Damas / Hartamas Shopping Centre. One of these places is Ah Yip Herbal Soup. If you are looking for something simple, and rather healthy - why not check out this place?

Apparently, they have quite a few branches too. So do google up and find out more about them.

It feels homecooked, and yet it is so easily available at the shopping centre. +1!

MiGF 2011 - Chynna, KL Hilton.

This is my 3rd MIGF dinner this year. And perhaps - the best so far. =)

Chef Lam has never failed to wow me with his great cooking and menu - from live freshwater fishes, yee sang during Chinese New Year, curry dry prawns and Canadian cod fish at last year's MIGF 2010 menu - I always look forward to Chef Lam's menu - and just recently, I tried the MIGF2011 menu. =)

Chilled Alaska King Crab Leg with Chili Paste Seafood Skewer & Brine Momotaro Tomato.
A rather cold appetizer to begin the meal with. The brine momotaro tomato, a rare Japanese breed but grown in Cameron Highlands - is perhaps the juiciest tomato that I have ever had. The Alaskan King crab leg, with the seafood skewer adds on to excite your tastebuds of the good stuffs to come. =)

Double Boiled Snakehead Nourishing Tonic Soup with Fresh Milk and Shark’s Fin.
For some, it will actually taste a bit like fish head noodles' soup. But the different here is... Chynna uses fresh milk. While most other places tend to make their soups rather thick - Chef Lam's tonic soup has a rather nice feel to it. In fact, the soup is so good that I want to order some noodles to go with it... LOL.

Stewed Short Rib with Charcoal Garlic & Roasted Onion Potato
Another dish with some really succulent meat. =)

Salted Plum with Lime Sorbet
Halfway through, there's a sorbet for you to wash down the food and the tastes, so that your throat is clear again for the next round of dishes... =)

Duet Deep Sea Grouper with Dragon Fruits Sauce and
Olive Oil Blended Green Spinach Sauce.
The fish comes in 2 parts - the first being the one with green spinach sauce...

...and the 2nd with dragon fruit sauce!!! =)

Both are rather equal in taste - and I have to say, this is my favourite dish lorrr...

Thick Gruel Japanese Rice with Fresh Peeled Crab Meat
in Lobster Reduction
This one is a MUST EAT!!! It is perhaps my first time trying this; I thought it looked like porridge, but it is way better than that. And the aroma from the lobster and the crab meat? Cant go wrong lorr... =P

Black Chocolate Parfait with Five Nuts & Sweet Potato Cha Cha Mousse with Yam Ice Cream
For dessert, Chef Lam has come up with the ideal combination of chocolate, nuts, yam and the sweet potato cha cha mousse.... truly mouthwatering... damn nicee lorrr... =P

RM178++ per person (without wine pairing)

Restoran Fatty Crab, Taman Megah.

One of my favourite crab places to go to, for some really awesome crabs is Restoran Fatty Crab, at Taman Megah in PJ. It does not have many varieties, but its spicy and sour crabs is perhaps the better ones that I have tried.

How about a Heineken for dinner?

The awesome fried chicken wings.

The signature spicy and sour crab. =P

My personal favourite... order this, and then dip the bread in... woahh... heavenn!!!

Their signature fried rice. =)
